Nationally recognised training – on successfully completing the training and assessment, a statement of attainment will be issued for SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety and SITXFSA006 Participate in safe food handling practices.
This Food Safety Supervisor course provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to hold a Food Safety Supervisor certificate, essential for supervising the safe production and service of food. It teaches students to implement hygienic food safety practices and engage in safe food handling procedures. The course is designed for anyone involved in food handling, including cooks, chefs, caterers, kitchen stewards, staff in bars, and food and beverage services. In Queensland, it is a legal requirement for every food-related business to employ a certified Food Safety Supervisor.
Approximately 8 hours of pre-course online learning followed by 2 days face-to-face in a classroom setting at Equality Educations office located at 2/276 Charters Towers Road, Hermit Park QLD 4812. Equality Education will allocate the dates for the 2 face-to-face sessions. Students must complete the pre-course online learning before attending Equality Educations office for the face-to-face sessions. Students must be marked satisfactory in their theory before commencing the practical component. If students do not attend the allocated days for the knowledge assessment and practical component, they will be invoiced a rescheduling fee which can be found in the Schedule of Fees and Charges.

The assessment requires students to complete a range of written questions and responses to case studies, where they will then demonstrate their applied knowledge and skills during a practical assessment and the trainer will conduct and complete observation checklists.
Classroom based
Elective Units
Students are required to present to Equality Educations office located at 2/276 Charters Towers Road, Hermit Park QLD 4812 in appropriate uniform attire suitable for participation in practical activities in a workplace training setting, including fully enclosed non-slip shoes. Students will require basic stationary and a notebook according to their own study preferences during face-to-face training sessions. Access to a computer which has internet connection, emails, Microsoft word and the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is mandatory to allow students to undertake the pre-course online learning prior to the face-to-face sessions. Laptops are available for students to complete their pre-course online learning in Equality Educations office.
